well guys. Apparently it’s been a year.
AHHHHHHHHH I was supposed to post this yesterday or the day before, but I’m dis-organised so WAH. Anywayz, a whole year has gone by in the blink of an eye. It does sadden me very much. I’ve been blogging photos from my trip to Australia, but the content has been only mildly of interest to you (I assume) so, to my great amazement, I am extremely excited to get back into the swing of everything: start blogging regularly, attacking my school work with enthusiasm and putting my new years resolutions into action. I can’t wait to embrace the cold weather and start just piling all my clothes on again. At the same time, it’s sososososooso bummy that we’re leaving Australia- I am just dreading the practically 24-hour plane journey home and predict that tears will not be un-common. It’s gunna be such hell trying to find all my clothes and trinkets and things when we have to pack for the ride home and I’ve lost so many things so I’m probably going to spend the whole way back in woe. I am planning on writing lots about the people around me and burying myself in movies. Isn’t it crazy that next time I see my relatives I’ll be like 15 or 16 years old. Like, practically a granny. OMGZ still, I am terribly excited to be home again, but when I get home I am going to have to sort through all my things and completely redo my room, as I had to take everything down because people have been staying in our house whilst we’ve been away. How tragic is that- Ibe, Flower, Hollie: imagine having to put away all that treasure trove of memorabillia which we call your teenage bedroom. Hmmm. I guess it gives me space to start fresh. I have so much school work to do when I get home. Bleehhh. Anyways, back to the old happy-happy-joy-joy act, here are my new years resolutions and below is a sort of reveiw of the year on my blog…
1. Not second-guess my outfits, just wear whatever I want, conserve money for clothes and be really free.
2. Be really creative: draw once a week, make a collage once a week. Make DIYS (rookie badge thing- start etsy)
3. Write a diary, try to expressive feelings etc.
4. Don’t be jealous of other bloggers for giddy gods sake.
5. Redecorate room
6. Muster up the courage to write a really deep post expressing all da crap in my head (and ultimately show I’m not just a pretty face.)
7. Organise ROOKIE fan club etc blah blah blah
8. Have fun duh.
9. Meet up with my internet laidezzz.
10. Just generally keep up with everything blah blah blah the usual.
2012 report YAYAYAYAYYA:
So laideeeezz (and gentlemen) my wordpress 2012 year in blogging report thing has arrived and I am going to share with you some stats, for no apparent reason. Okay lets go.
(Apparently) about 55,000 tourists visit Liechtenstein every year. This blog was viewed about 220,000 times in 2012. If it were Liechtenstein, it would take about 4 years for that many people to see it. Your blog had more visits than a small country in Europe!
In 2012, there were 99 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 132 posts.
The busiest day of the year was September 21st with 25,622 views. The most popular post that day was about.
My top reffering sites in 2012 were facebook.com, rookiemag.com, stylebubble.com and thedailybeast.com so thankyou! All in all, I had veiws from 159 countires all over the world, my top countries being England, U.S.A and Australia. My top commenters were sadienencini1 with 45 comments, hannah with 21 comments, Jinny/Ginny with 18 comments, Tilly Munyard with 18 comments and Pheobe Nuria with 18 comments.
-At the moment I’m at 697 followers or something (on twitter) so good for you welldone for putting up with me people. Anyways, after Susie Bubble tweeted a picture of me when we bumped into each other at London Fashion Week last february I set up a Twitter account so I could be ultra in with the tech. It’s actually really benefitial for networking and helps to keep up with all da fash goss and find out exclusive news of sample sales etc etc etc basically it is just amazing- and although I believe I failed to inform you guys, I actually now use instagram from my mother’s phone so yeah, if you want to follow me I think my name is @opheliahorton- I thought I’d give you guys a snippet of my most recent tweets and insta-photos! NOTE: on both tweet page things below it does not say sarcastic silly twats with Ophelia Horton is says sarcastic silly tweets with Ophelia Horton, I must admit my powerpoint skills are not really up to scratch- oh well.
-Also, it was early easter this year methinks, when I started my tumblr, which is basically a platform I use as a moodboard really- I just reblog things from anyone and it’s fairly casual, but here are just my favorite things I’ve seen: some vibbeesy photos and a screencap of the blogs which have been getting the most of ma lurrrveee lately.
-If you have been doing your daily dose of stalkerage lately, you will know that I featured in three magazines this month: a two page spread in the Company magazine Super-blogger issue, a page in an Australian publication called DOLLY and lastly in Sunday Times Style magazine’s bargain article in which I wore my Louise Gray X Topshop dress and Jeremy Scott sunglasses. It’s going to be a busy year, but I like giving myself things to look forward to. I think it helps me survive middle school. And it’s been wierd this year, with lots of publicity, you know. I’ve experienced alot of things: good-ish and bad-ish: as well as the praise there is alot more judgement and jealousy too. I guess by now (and especially after Tavi) people have kind of gotton over the whole ‘teen blogger’ palava and have stopped accusing smart, intellectual and articulate young girls of in fact being middle-aged men…but where there’s success, there is still always something to critiscise about. It’s kind of sad. I guess it’s important to not let things like that get to your head (haterz gunna hate OMGZ DAH BBEBSS) and it’s also important to stay grounded and not get caught up in it all- I think my friends help with that. Things like school remind me that I’m in fact not sitting next to Susie and Tavi in Paris eating bon bons and talking cool stuff, but I’m actually in my chemistry class drawing pictures of witches/poo next to Rocio (listening at the same time of course) whilst trying to ignore douchey pre-pubescent boys throw sexist sandwich jokes at me. Yayyayay. Anywayz, after all this publicity I’m just here to say, well, I’m the same person, I’m still alive and although da pressure is onn to be a super duper blogger, things are the same, I still write my blog for myself, and I hope this next year is going to be a good one…
According to some random trashy magazine (probably called NOW or something) which was on my auntie’s table:
You are going to meet new people who may open doors for you, loved ones might come back and though it’s been a dark few years, you’ve battled on and the light is coming, you will make progress in your career and you will buy a new handbag…
So it’s all good. Looks like I’m all set for the new year.
